Cingular Wireless
It costs a wireless carrier more than $200 to acquire a new customer. I have been a Cingular customer for the last 3 or 4 years. Last month, my payment got lost in the mail. Yes, I really sent it on time.
So, I received a call from Cingular customer service the other day wanting to know where my payment is. Since I haven’t received my monthly checking account statement, I checked online and noticed that the check never cleared. I told the rep that the check must be lost in the mail or more likely lost in their mail room/fulfillment area. I told them that I would give them my credit card and pay for the April bill. I then requested that they do not charge any late fee. They said they couldn’t drop the $5.00 late fee.
So, Cingular will not drop the $5.00 late fee for a payment that I sent two weeks before the due date.
I am now looking to change wireless carriers, over the $5.00 that Cingular won’t drop.
